Form has noticeably dipped since Nolan returned from injury

Not sure how Allardyce considers Carlton Cole to be a better forward than Zarate, but then again the Allardyce way has rarely if ever involved pace, passing or movement off the ball

I give no credit to Allardyce for the early season form because change was forced upon him

Let him adapt his system to the resources he has during the African Nation's Cup for the benefit of the club and then we'll see that last season was no aberration

West Ham fans discussing a West Ham match on a West Ham forum. That's some crazy shit right there. Incomprehensible even.

The whole tired after 3 matches nonsense is a load of arse sweat, seeing as the reason given for playing shit players was to rotate the team so they wouldn't get tired. You can't have it both ways.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Well said 360.

The particular concern I had about the West Brom game is Sakho's lack of celebration when he scored. He's always said how much he wants to score goals, particularly at home in front of the fans, but when that one went in he acted like a player does when they score against their former club, whereas he usually shows great joy.

It suggests to me that there's something going on that he's not happy about, and that's a worry.

It's easy to dismiss that 'performance' by claiming the players were tired after 3 games in 6 days, etc. but it's the same for all teams.

Yes mate but it's the same thing whether you call it political or dinosaurism.

'The new way' was very effective, and no matter how much bullshit he spouts, it clearly wasn't Sam's Way.

Suddenly you have the playing style and the incumbent manager wildly out of kilter. Sam is not so stupid that he can't see what the end result of that will be...

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I don't think BFS is being political its just that he is a traditional manager who knows HIS football and what it looks like.
And HIS football has Big Andy up top , tries to keep its shape and scores off the knockdowns.
Ironically the Sahko/Valencia style holding the ball further up the pitch and getting the full backs up as attackers and Downing playing the balls through is a bit REAL MADRID.
Maybe Sam's dream of being REAL manager is better off not coming to fruition.

Pagey...re west brom equaliser.

Two quick forward players got at us on the break. It's a shame we don't have 2 quick forwards who can break at pace. Oh..

Lots of us have had a go at putting it into words, but yours is probably the best encapsulation I've seen to date.

So bearing all that in mind, is Sam 'deliberately' throwing games? Well, he's a cunning bastard, and HE will think he's just the right side of the line on that one.

Okay then, are his behaviours having the same EFFECT as throwing games? YES, for me, they certainly are, for all the reasons summed up succinctly by 360 below.

We need the Fat One out. In the meantime, Sulli needs to micro manage Sam's arse off, otherwise he will trash and burn behind him as he goes.

360. I pretty much agree with you theory, what else could it be, other than the mental illness somebody suggested yesterday?

Scraper. Sullivan with Teddy Sheringham as head coach?

Good post 360...

Bfs knows what he is doing. However I think the board may let him have a slow death this season.

I quite enjoyed watching the game actually. The subs didnt really inspire me but such is football sometimes and sadly 'brom finished the game more likely to win.

Our fullbacks provide some fcking great crosses these days.

We'd be better off being managed by Sullivan. I believe this.

Totally agree with every word there. Could have written that myself. BFS is a self centred, agrogant, stubburn prick.

He also totally has to justify the 17m he persuaded G&S to spend on Carroll.

He's loosing all his agruments and excuses.

The writing on the wall was at the Leicester game. We were flaterred by that result and the holes wre there to see.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
According to the experts on WHO...Song's poor display was because he was heavily marked by 2 or 3 players at all times...

Why then was Sessegnon allowed the freedom of the pitch to dictate almost all of WBA's goal chances...why didn't our tactical genius BFS assign someone to man mark him and stop him controlling the midfield and indeed setting up their goal...

BFS seems to be setting up his agenda as some are saying...viz Carroll...Nolan...and route 1 play...

Hope Sullivan and Gold tear him off a strip for his stupid tactics over Xmas...

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
I think a few things are obvious now.

Sam likes to play politics. His winning team of earlier in the season was forced on him through injuries and the chairman. He doesn't like the situation because it makes him look like a mug. All Sam's management decisions are based on how he ends up looking personally rather than what's going to help the team achieve the best they can.

There is no logical reason for him to have changed the way we play since Caroll and Nolan have been available for selection other than they are "his" players. He started Caroll in every game over Xmas period. So Caroll is obviously the no.1 striker in his eyes yet that is obviously not right because we have had better results with the other striker pairing. He's just doing it to show that he was right all along in betting the clubs future last year on the Carol/Nolan/Jarvis/Downing formation which nearly got us relegated.

He has calculated that getting a top ten finish is all that's expected of him and he can claw his power back in the club by undermining talent that was not brought by him, regardless of whether they are good enough. If sahko hadn't ridiculously exceeded expectations I doubt he'd be starting. I think he just play Caroll up top and that would be it.

Sam annoys me because he's so blatantly cynical and political. It's all about him and it always has been. In his mind he never makes mistakes, it's always individual errors or injuries or some other thing, but it's never him.

The west brom game doesn't piss me off as much as throwing the Chelsea game. Shit happens like today's game, that's fine. But deliberately going into a game with what is a weakend side is not something I'd expect of a team in the top 4/5. That's what you do if you think you're getting relegated, not playing for Europe or higher. In that one instance it shows me that Sam can't manage a big club ever because he doesn't have the mentality to think big. Just like Moyes and Curbs who talk about big clubs but really haven't got it in them.

Re: West Ham v WBA - Official Match Thread 1-1 FT
Reid was caught between trying to cover for Collins who was one on one and bang in trouble and trying to look after his own man too.

It was a good goal by West Brom. All teams concede at times. Chelsea conceded five today. Is Gary Cahill suddenly shit because Harry Kane got the better of him today? No.
